Every October 31st, people of all ages come together to celebrate, in my opinion, one of the most fun holidays! Costumes, Candy, and Celebrations, Halloween is a magical time.  For us here in Texas, it brings the hope of cooler weather and the desire that maybe, just maybe our trees will turn a slight shade of orangeish -red to give us the fall ambiance that is so foreign to most of us in the south.

The Woodlands might not have as much haunted history as some of it's fellow Texas cities including San Antonio, New Braunfels, or Galveston, but there is still a wide range of events for all ages to make this a Halloween to remember!

1. Visit the Haunted Locations in Old Town Spring

Begin the day by visiting the various shops and restaurants all within walking distance of each other, including Corkscrew BBQ for lunch and The Blue Giraffe for coffee and dessert.  It's a very enjoyable walk if the weather calls for it.   As nightfall hits, you can visit the various locations that are reportedly haunted.  Some of these include Puffabelly's and the Wunsche Brothers Cafe and Saloon.  Unfortunately the latter has severe burn damage and is now permanently closed but you can still walk by and catch of glimpse of the historic building.  Old Town Spring is also rumored to have been a robbery victim of the famous bank robbing duo, Bonnie and Clyde.  This unique area is a goldmine for the paranormal and history buffs!

Bonus adventure: Make the trek to downtown Houston where you'll find all sorts of spooky spots including the famous, Spaghetti Warehouse.

2. Monster Mash Run!

The Monster Mash Run - 5k/10k & Kids K - takes place at the beautiful Karbach brewery located at 2032 Karbach Street in Northwest Houston.

The Monster Mash Run was established in 2008 in Sugar Land, Texas and was moved to Sam Houston Race Park in 2009. In 2015, RA Sports Management relocated the race to the Karbach Brewery in order to provide a new USATF certified route and a new experience for our participants. Since it's a Halloween themed run, most of the runners and families dress up in their favorite costume to enhance the fun. It takes place on Saturday, October 28, 2017. Check out the link below:

 3.  Trick or Treat Trail

Enjoy a fun-filled afternoon with your family and join us at the annual Trick or Treat Trail at Town Green Park in the Woodlands Township! Children can trick or treat from booth to booth and fill their bags with goodies from local vendors. This FREE event also includes great strolling entertainment, inflatables, games, costume contests and more! It will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2017

4. Texas Renaissance Festival

Texas Ren Fest welcomes over half a million guests each year.  For only being open on weekends during October and November, that's pretty impressive!  From costumed performances to unique shops, to interesting craft vendors, Ren Fest is a sight to see.  Check out each of the themed weekends to pick which one best suits you, from "Pirate Adventure" to "All Hallows Eve."
